3rd Pediatric Renal Nutrition Academy

This educational event will offer training by leading North American and international experts in pediatric renal nutrition for the mid-level practitioner looking to deepen their knowledge and refine their expertise. Seasoned professionals will benefit from clinical practice review and networking opportunities. This program will build upon topics discussed at the beginner PRNA by providing more in depth training and expanding "best practice" knowledge in key topic areas.

Program topics will include:

  • Research, QI, and ensuring best practice
  • Applied anthropometry
  • Taking action early: Why is early phosphate intervention necessary?
  • Advanced clinical management
  • Advanced adequacy - meeting nutrition needs
  • Advances in nutritional intervention in acute care
  • Pediatric renal formula prescription: product choices, mixing techniques and beyond
  • Lunch roundtables, case studies
  • Expert panel discussion: "Tricks of the Trade"

Continuing professional education units will be applied for through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
